What we collect
We collect your email address when you create an account, and the ages of children you choose to enter yourself during onboarding. We also collect publicly listed daycare business information — names, addresses, phone numbers, and websites — from BC government open data and other public sources.
What we do not collect
We do not collect payment information — Stripe handles all transactions independently and we never see your card details. We do not collect your home address. We do not collect any information about children beyond the ages you voluntarily enter.
How we use your data
Your information is used only to provide the KinderTrail service — saving daycares, tracking applications, and setting reminders. We never sell parent data. We never share your identity with daycares except through inquiries you explicitly choose to send.
Third-party data
Daycare listings are sourced from BC government open data (the Child Care Map dataset) and publicly available websites. This data may not be fully accurate or current — KinderTrail is not responsible for errors in third-party data. Google ratings displayed on profiles come directly from Google and are not verified by KinderTrail.
Cookies and analytics
We may use basic analytics tools to understand site traffic. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
Marketing emails
Parents who opt in to marketing updates may receive occasional emails from KinderTrail. You can unsubscribe at any time from your account settings.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing hello.kindertrail@gmail.com. Daycares can request removal of their listing the same way. We process these requests within one business day.
